??? a random club meeting

It is a day outside of usual club affairs. Damien has gathered everyone together---he seems excited about the sheaf of paper he holds in his hands. Cattivo is grumbling underneath his breath about something or the other, seated in the usual corner of the club room. Francisco is seated as well, it seems that Damien will be speaking for today.

When everyone has arrived, Damien finally speaks.

"Okay, everyone, this is going to be a short club meeting. I just want you to fill this out for me really, really quick okay! I know, total drag, but it should pass by really quickly and then you won't have to look at my face any longer~"

He smiles before passing out the papers, it seems to be a multiple choice survey of some sot.

"Once you fill it out, give it back to Fran, alright? And I'm really, really begging you to be honest about this!" There was an odd note in Damien's voice that seemed strangely...compelling.

The questions seem to start out on the mundane, but then go into the...odd.

Allen walked over to him and set the paper in his hand. "What in the world?" Allen thought as he backed away.

Mari smiled up at Damien brightly, not questioning his orders as she gazed down at her test, pumping her lead from her mechanical pencil as she scrutinized the questions with interest. For some reason, Mari always found herself doing her tests backwards and this test was no exception. She blinked at the last question, rubbing her forehead with her eraser. A light-bulb? How strange... she thought idly, but didn't think into it much deeper. It was a good thing it was in spiritual ink, Mari thought, or she'd be lost.

After gazing down at the question for what seemed like an eternity, Mari could feel something rise in her throat and press at the back of her eyes. She pushed the paper away for a bit and covered her face with a hand, rubbing her eyes and adding a yawn to make it seem like she was just tired before pulling the paper back to her, forcing her eyes to skip over the question and go on to the next. If Damien asked, she'd just tell him she didn't see the question and skipped it by accident.

Mari paused and frowned, thinking of Holden, she shook her head lightly and circled 'A'.

A bit shocked, Mari put down her pencil and looked away. Was she an aggressive person? Picking her pencil back up, she added an answer [e.) I don't know] and circled it.

Mari hunched over at the question and broke her lead from pressing too hard on the wooden table. She scowled down at the question with a menacing glare. She circled 'no' with a hard oval.

Dagr takes the sheet solemnly after giving Damien a wary glance. He still hasn't forgotten when Damien had called him 'pretty'. He then glances over the questions, eyebrows ascending his forehead until he sufficiently masters a dubious expression.

"Physical Education. The school forces me to take it, and everyone...changes in the same locker rooms." Dagr shudders at the thought of it.

"Dawn. And I'm afraid I'll have to disagree; it isn't exactly the same thing as morning. Dawn is the beginning of morning. So...I guess you could view it as a new beginning? But either way, it is beautiful."

"I believe in conserving, actually."

"But...I haven't criticized anyone..."

Gilbert frowned and stared out the window, enveloping himself in a daydream. He knew he should listen to Damien, but he'd had an odd dream the night before, and wanted to "see" the ending. Suddenly, he was snapped from the strange daydream by the sound of smooth paper fluttering onto his desk and looked down at the quiz. Strange... Gil thought monotonously, tilting his head to the side as he picked up his pen.


He thought about each answer exclusively. He didn't mind math, he supposed, but it was a bit too boring for his tastes, plus, they lied way too much about how you'd use Algebra in your everyday life. Phys Ed, Gil thought of it a bit, he was never required to do much but stand around in that class, or, at least, walk around the track at his own pace, so it really wasn't so bad, plus, he did much worse than simple sports in Dragoon camp. Language, art? He aced those without breaking a sweat, and loved them (not that he'd admit he loved anything). History was his favorite subject. Science was simply amazing- so complicated and creative, although he didn't agree with everything the subject came with. Gilbert finally decided he liked math the least.


'My favorite time of day...?' Gilbert blinked. Why exactly was Damien giving out this test for? He sighed and mulled over the options. He always got up very early, but mornings were not his favorite time of day. A dry laugh softly left his lips. Who was he kidding? He got up before the morning even began, before sunrise. He considered Dawn different from morning. He frowned and went over the answers again and again. Nope. No sunset. Ah well, Damien said nothing about adding answers.


Who in the world would do that?


Gilbert rummaged through his memories, but couldn't find a thing. Suddenly, Francisco popped into mind. 'He's...it's not my fault! H-he... Wait...why had he circled A?


I like Christmas. He thought fondly.


Gilbert frowned a rose a brow. Why in the world would anyone hate themselves?


Gilbert sighed.


Catching himself as he zoned out, Gilbert snapped out of it and came back to reality.


Gilbert rubbed at his droopy eyes. Did they think that his training camp was completely useless?


What if that someone had stolen something from you and you were just taking it back stealthily? What if they had something that was vital for the mission, but you meant no ill intent? Gilbert shrugged.


Why would Damien care? Gilbert wondered, it really did depend.


Gilbert wondered if Damien realized that not everyone had taken Latin. Either way, his cheeks burned a dark red at the line as he grudgingly answered, rubbing at his slowly warming ear-tips.


If he didn't, Gilbert would have left long ago.


Gilbert sighed. He said goodbye to everyone when he left the club-room, didn't he?


Gilbert tried to suppress his thoughts as he fondly imagined Francisco's bright eyes, a dark, dark crimson gushing onto his cheeks and burning his ears.


'I don't like Francisco, I don't like Francisco, I am not in love with guy!' He thought vehemently and stomped over to Damien, handing him the quiz with a huff of breath and leaving after Mari.
